How it works
A smile lift is a 30-minute non-surgical “expression enhancing treatment”. It is designed to turn a sad permanent drooping mouth corner, upside down, restoring a happy smile. Gummy Smile Correction
Smiling comes easy and naturally for most of us. It is aesthetically appealing to see several millimetres above the incisor teeth during conversation, however, there are some people whose smile exposes the entire gum line to reveal what is known as a “Gummy smile”. Botulinum toxin injections can correct this smile and help improve overall appearance, lifting one’s smile, confidence and self-esteem. This correction typically only requires 2-3 injections annually.
There are several factors that contribute to a gummy smile, including:
- If the upper lip is thin and lacks fullness
- If the upper lip is hypermobile, moving higher than usual and revealing more gum area.
- When the upper jaw is longer than usual, producing a gummy smile even with the slightest movement of the upper lip.
- When there is excessive gum tissue displaying highly exposed gummy teeth
- If the shape and size of teeth are naturally such that the gum to teeth proportion creates more exposed gum area impacting the aesthetic appeal of their smile.
